Walking through stones

Walking Through Stones is a story of migration and war: an Italian brother and sister move to Edinburgh from Southern Italy just before World War Two and grapple with the difficulties of many first generation migrants. Drawing on Eduardo Paolozzi's multipart artwork, "The Manuscript of Monte Cassino" and classical mythology, the play explores the horrendous impact that war can have on people's lives. As Vulcan makes his mighty thunderbolts, hurling them down on humankind, Mother Time predicts the inevitability of war.Walking Through Stones was first staged at the Demarco Rocket venue, Edinburgh Fringe, in 2002.
