A geo-historical overview of Southern Italy. Geographical issues, historiographical tendencies, innovative strategies

here are several reasons for this volume. One of them is a deeply rooted interest of the authors in Southern Italy as a cultural question from a historical and geographical perspective. However, the main reason is to overcome both the traditional interpretation of Southern Italy and the dualism between the North and the South. In fact, a clear and authentic geographical analysis of such an area is paramount in order to study the problems of this territory and the historical orientations. The hereby documented research analyses some fundamental key factors so as to clarify significant geo-historical questions and elaborate processes of territorial regeneration.
